Using MailHop Outbound with Outlook Express

This document describes how to configure Outlook Express to work with MailHop® Outbound.

Please note: Outlook Express expects to speak the outdated SMTPS protocol when you specify a non-25 port and enable SSL. You can use one of our available SMTPS ports, port 465 or port 10465, to work around this behavior.

Outlook: Accounts
Select "Accounts..." from the tools menu.

Outlook: Properties
Under the "Mail" tab, choose your default mail account and click on "Properties".

Outlook: Outbound
Under the servers tab, change "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" to "outbound.mailhop.org". Click the check box for "My server requires authentication" and then click on the "Settings..." button.

Outlook: Credentials
Choose "Log on using" and enter your DynDNS.com username and password.

New outgoing mail will now use MailHop Outbound.
