Using MailHop Outbound with Outlook 2010

This document describes how to configure Microsoft Outlook 2010 to work with MailHop® Outbound. (Please note: If your account is set up with Exchange, you will need to set MailHop Outbound in your Exchange server itself, not the client. You can learn how to do this here.)

To begin, go to the File tab in Outlook and click the Info tab on the left of the screen.

Select your account from the top of the Account Information page. Next, click on the Account Settings button, then click the Account Settings... dropdown.

In the Account Settings window, on the E-mail tab, select your IMAP/SMTP entry on the list, then click the Change... button above the list.

In the Change Settings window, change the Outgoing Mail Server field to outbound.mailhop.org. (This is the only setting you will want to adjust; the login information below is for your incoming mail server.) Next, click on the More Settings... button in the bottom right of the window.

In the Internet E-mail Settings window, on the Outgoing Server tab, enable the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" checkbox, then select the "Log on using" radio button. Enter your DynDNS.com User Name and Password.

To use MailHop Outbound on an alternate port (such as 2525 or 10025) or enable TLS, click the Advanced tab. Change the Outgoing Server field to modify Outlook's outgoing SMTP port, and change the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" field to TLS to enable it.

Once you have completed these steps, your Outlook account will be configured to send mail using our MailHop Outbound service.
