Static DNS - End Of Life

Categories: DNS, General

DynDNS no longer offers the Static DNS service as of August 6, 2007. Instead, Dynamic DNS hosts now have a Time to Live (TTL) setting. This allows customers with static IP addresses to still receive the benefits of caching, while simplifying the host creation and management process. By combining the features of Static DNS into a more flexible Dynamic DNS service, we hope to offer customers a more user-friendly and customizable experience.

As before, Dynamic DNS hosts will still expire due to account inactivity and expiration . If all of the hosts have not been modified within 30 days, the account will be considered inactive and will be removed from the system. You can prevent Dynamic DNS inactivity expirations by purchasing an Account Upgrade or by manually modifying the Dynamic DNS host every 28 days.
