What is a BIZ domain?

The BIZ domain space is restricted to bona fide businesses or commercial use.

Are there any restrictions on the BIZ TLD?

Yes, for purposes of the .biz registration restrictions, “bona fide business or commercial use” shall mean the use or intent to use the domain name or any content, software, materials, graphics or other information thereon, to permit Internet users to access one or more host computers through the DNS for the exchange of goods, services or property of any kind; or to facilitate the exchange of goods, services, information or property of any kind.

Registering a domain name solely for the purposes of selling, trading or leasing the domain name for compensation; or the unsolicited offering to sell, trade or lease the domain name for compensation shall not constitute a "bona fide business or commercial use" of that domain name.

For illustration purposes, the following shall not constitute a “bona fide business or commercial use” of a domain name:

Using or intending to use the domain name exclusively for personal, noncommercial purposes; or using or intending to use the domain name exclusively for the expression of noncommercial ideas (i.e., registering abcsucks.biz exclusively to criticize or otherwise express an opinion on the products or services of ABC company, with no other intended business or commercial purpose).

What is the grace period for .BIZ domains?

What does "PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE" mean?

This means that the domain name in question is in the Redemption Period. Unfortunately, we are not able to perform renewals or restorations of domains in this status at this time.

What format does the phone and fax number have to be in?

All EPP based registries (org, .info, .biz, .us, .name and .cn) use the international phone number format: 

	+CCC.NNNNNNNNNNNNxEEEE

Where C = the country dial code, N is up to twelve digits of the phone number, and E is the extension. The x character is ONLY required if an extension is specified.

Why does my contact information not change during the course of a transfer?

All EPP based registries (org, .info, .biz, .us, .name and .cn) will not allow contact information to be changed during the course of a transfer.
