Verification Type

SSL Certificates are based on trust. QuickSSL Premium certificates only validate that the owner of the SSL certificate has some access to the domain. The True BusinessID certificates verifies the existence of the requesting organization and carries a higher degree of trust.

Certificates with Seals

Upon receipt all certificates the owner of the certificate is allowed to use a seal to demonstrate the validity of the SSL certificate. True BusinessID certificates also demonstrate the validity of the organization.

Wildcard Certificates

Certificates issued with wildcards, like the True BusinessID Wildcard Certificate, match all subdomains of a domain. For example, a wildcard certificate issued for *.example.com would include www.example.com, mail.example.com, and ftp.example.com.

SSL Certificates and Mobile Devices

All of our SSL certificates feature comprehensive browser recognition for desktop browsers with over 99% mobile browser compatibility. If you intend to use SSL with mobile devices such as web-enabled phones, Blackberries, or devices using Windows Mobile or Windows CE, our SSL certificates may be a good fit for you.

True BusinessID Extended Validation and Web Browsers

Web sites secured with an EV certificate display a green address bar to demonstrate to customers they have reached a highly authenticated site when viewed with high security browsers. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 displays the green address bar and future releases of Firefox and Opera will also support this new feature. In addition to the green address bar, an adjoining field displays both the names of the organization that owns the Web site and the CA that issued the certificate, GeoTrust. These enhanced interface features are immediately visible and help assure customers they are on their intended Web site and not on a fraudulent site.

True BusinessID Extended Validation and EV Upgrader with IE7

True BusinessID with EV comes with EV Upgrader., the first technology to .upgrade. all IE7 on Windows XP clients to turn their browser address bar green when they visit your EV certified Web site. EV Upgrader is available through the GeoTrust True Site Seal, and allows the widest set of browsers to display EV SSL.s unique interface conventions. CAs that offer EV certificates without EV Upgrader functionality cannot guarantee that all IE7 clients will experience the benefits of EV SSL.

Alternative Names

Some certificates allow you to create Alternative Names for an additional fee. Alternative Names allow you to use a single SSL certificate for multiple subdomains at the same domain; for example, a QuickSSL certificate for www.domain.com can have up to three Alternative Names, such as secure.domain.com, mail.domain.com and ftp.domain.com.

Please note: Alternative Names can only be selected during the certificate's creation process. You cannot add or modify a certificate's Alternative Names after creation. Additionally, some mail clients such as Outlook 2007 may only view the first listed alternate name on a certificate.
