Network Monitoring Features
DynDNS' Network Monitoring service features a full set of tools
available for the detection of problems with your network, host, or service.
A web-based interface provides complete control over the items that you wish
to monitor.
Features
The list below explains the feature set built into the Network Monitoring
service.
- Monitoring of an IP address or single A record hostname
- Support for hosts on dynamic IP addresses, using our Dynamic DNS
service
- Contacts defined for each host, with additional per-service
contacts also available
- Two forms of contact templates, "Normal" for e-mail clients, and
"Abbreviated" for pagers or cell phones.
- Up to ten (10) services monitored per host.
- A wide selection of checks (listed below)
- Checks directed to non-standard port numbers
- Expected Data Checks - The ability to check the returned data
for a specific string
- Variable Check Intervals - 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes,
or 1 hour
- At-a-glance view of host and service status
- Complete logging of host and service transitions and
notifications (GREEN, YELLOW, RED)
- Correlated checks from multiple agent sites located in Detroit,
MI and San Jose, CA
