Select Patton Electronics Devices Now DynDNS Certified

August 9, 2005

Dynamic Network Services (DynDNS), a leader in the field of Dynamic and Managed DNS services, announces today the certification of two lines of products developed by Patton Electronics.

Certification of these products provides DynDNS customers with the ability to implement hardware based solutions and be sure these will work properly with DynDNS's free and paid services. Additionally, this certification marks the first time that an entire product line has been granted certification.

"It was truly a pleasure working with Patton's engineering team," said Christian Smith, DynDNS' Director of Customer Service, "and in particular it is wonderful to see a single update client implemented across not one but two separate product lines."

VoIP Solution

VoIP (Voice over IP), is one of the fastest growing technologies being implemented by home and small business users, and the limited availablity (and resulting high cost) of static IP addresses often imposes a substantial barrier to the implementation of cost effective VoIP solutions.

Merging DynDNS' services with Patton's SmartNode technology can effectively reduce costs to customers by reducing or eliminating the reliance on expensive H.323 gateways and complicated SIP servers as well as monthly service fee to third party VoIP services.

"Hardly a day goes by that we're not contacted by a customer looking to implement VoIP over a cable or DSL connection with a dynamic IP address", said Brad Goodwin at DynDNS. "Having an off the shelf solution that we can suggest to customers is a big plus."

VPNs

VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) are becoming essential in today's market as companies expend to multiple locations and with the growth of home based office and small businesses. A VPN can help ensure secure and protected data transmission and access to protected systems, but until recently it was impractical if not impossible to establish a VPN in an environment with a dynamic IP address.

"The demand for VPN devices is ever increasing as consumers are looking for a secure way to access their computer remotely. Those consumers seeking a VPN solution with DDNS functionality have gone wanting until now," said Jeremy Hitchcock, Chief Financial Officer.

Devices such as the IPLink 2802 combined with DynDNS' services address this critical market, allowing DynDNS customers to leverage the speed and cost effectiveness of their Cable/DSL connection to provide secure data connections over a VPN.
