Router Certification Program Announced

WORCESTER, MA - Responding to our users' desire for a list of reliable hardware products that work with our Dynamic DNS and Custom DNS services, DynDNS.org is introducing the DynDNS.org Certified Program. This program is designed to help users avoid hardware products that feature a poorly written client, and to encourage manufacturers to update their existing products as well as design their future products so that they work well with our services. As part of this program, DynDNS.org will list and recommend hardware products that have been certified under the DynDNS.org Certified for Dynamic DNS and DynDNS.org Certified for Custom DNS programs.

The certification process evaluates a router or other hardware product. The product is thoroughly tested in our lab to ensure complete compliance with DynDNS.org's requirements as well as usability and ease of configuration. If the product passes the test requirements, it will be listed in our listing with any applicable comments, and the manufacturer will be allowed to use the DynDNS.org Certified logo in their advertising, packaging, and documentation. Should the product fail to meet the requirements, a detailed report will be sent to the manufacturer explaining the issues that were found. There is no limitation on the number of products that can be tested for inclusion in this program.

This program offers benefits both to users and to manufacturers. Users will benefit by being able to select hardware products that are known to operate well with DynDNS.org DNS services. The presence of the DynDNS.org Certified logos on hardware products' packaging will also draw users' attention to participating products. For manufacturers, the benefits of participation in this program include lower support costs as well as increased exposure for their products to DynDNS.org's growing customer base of over 500,000 users.

Manufacturers that would like to have their products evaluated for listing should send their products, preferably pre-release candidates, to the following address, along with the appropriate form that can be downloaded from our web site.
