DynDNS Pricing/Service Survey Launched

May 8, 2003

Due to concerns raised after the pricing change for Custom DNS and Secondary DNS services which went into effect on May 1st, DynDNS.org is announcing today that a survey has been made available to allow all DynDNS.org users to voice their opinions about that pricing change and other present and future services. The survey is open to all registered users, and can be accessed at https://www.dyndns.org/survey.html. “This is a short survey which should only take 5-10 minutes, and the results will help us better tune our pricing and service offerings to our customers' wants and needs,” said Jeremy Hitchcock, DynDNS.org’s Chief Financial Officer.

“We didn't anticipate the level of backlash that we saw from the pricing change we made,” explained DynDNS.org President and CEO Tim Wilde. “We thought the indications on the pricing page that one-time pricing wouldn't last forever were enough notification that a change like this was coming; clearly we were mistaken, and we apologize for that lack of foresight. We hope that this survey will help us bring pricing for Custom DNS in line with customer expectations, and also provide us with valuable planning information for future service offerings.”

The price changes introduced on May 1st do not affect any service which was purchased before that date. Custom DNS and Secondary DNS service sold under the previous one-time-fee structure remains under that same structure. The changes only affect new purchases.

Results of this survey will be kept confidential, as per DynDNS.org’s existing privacy policy, and will not affect individual accounts in any way. The survey will be run for at least two weeks.
