DynDNS.org announced today the offering of domain registration. Everyone is encouraged to use the new domain registration system. Domain registrations are available through their main web site (www.dyndns.org) featuring the following top level domains: .biz, .cc, .cn, .com, .info, .name, .net, .org, .tv, .co.uk, .org.uk, and .us. Domain registration is also fully integrated with Custom DNS.
As part of DynDNS.orgs growth strategy, domain registration is a logical addition to the current DNS service offerings. Previously, we've offered hostnames from domain names we own or offered service to those who already have their own domain name, explained Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Hitchcock. Domain registration allows our customers to purchase a domain name and manage their zone in a completely integrated environment.
A domain registration offering was originally planned because of poor performances from existing registrars. We were getting so many questions from customers due to problems with third party registrars that we figured we should provide them with a registration experience that was truly easy to use, said Customer Support Technician Christian Smith.
DynDNS.org has been hard at work perfecting the registration process which is a tedious and confusing task at most other registrars. The DynDNS.org Development Team spent much of the last year perfecting the domain registration process in order to streamline our customers online experience. We've come up with something a bit better than other registrars and we hope that it makes the domain registration process that much easier, explained Casey West, Senior Systems Developer.
At the same time, DynDNS.org is going to retire the one-time setup fee pricing structure to a more conventional model. This pricing policy has been in place since DynDNS.org originally accepted donations through PayPal. The change is to ensure future business viability and make way for volume pricing to be announced at a later time.
