Additional MailHop Services Launched

October 2, 2003

WORCESTER, MA – Dynamic DNS Network Services, LLC (DynDNS.org) is today proud to announce the release of two additional services in the MailHopSM line, MailHopSM Outbound and MailHopSM Forward Lite.

The MailHopSM Outbound service provides a secure, authenticated SMTP server for anyone who wants or needs to avoid problematic ISP mail servers for their outgoing e-mail. "When you’re always on the go, it’s important to have a mail server you know you’ll be able to send mail through. Many ISP’s don't provide that, requiring that you be on their network to use their mail server, or restricting the addresses you use in your messages. The MailHopSM Outbound service provides our customers with that vital mail server, ensuring that they can always get out those important e-mails," explained Jeremy Hitchcock, DynDNS.org CFO.

“With a service like this, abuse is always a concern. We are taking a number of measures to lock down this service and prevent spamming, including limits on the number of recipients in any given message, and messages sent per day. All messages are also tagged with their originating username, and logged, so we can quickly track down and disable abusive accounts,” said Tim Wilde, DynDNS.org President & CEO. For full details of the features of this new service, please see the MailHopSM Outbound page.

MailHopSM Forward Lite, which has actually been available for several weeks, is simply a “slimmed-down” version of the MailHopSM Forward service. The only difference is that Lite customers are limited to 5 aliases per domain, whereas the full MailHop Forward service allows for an unlimited number of aliases. "We discovered that many customers were not using the MailHopSM Forward service to its full potential, and determined that a Lite version would be useful to a significant segment, while the offer of a full service would remain appealing to power users," said Christian Smith, Director of Customer Service.
