Issue 40: Dynamic DNS Pro and Upcoming Events

May 26, 2009

Internet Week

Many customers likely noticed that their Account Upgrade service underwent a makeover recently, re-emerging as the Dynamic DNS Pro service. Why the facelift? For starters, "Account Upgrade" is a rather bland and nondescript title, and we hope the new name helps to make its purpose clearer — Dynamic DNS Pro offers a variety of benefits for your Dynamic DNS services.

The other reason is that we've added a lot of features to the service over time, the most recent being an ever-growing list of premium domain names and a vastly increased abusive update threshold. For many customers, the latter change is the biggest: with the new threshold, we estimate 95% of clients that were previously being blocked for abusive updates will become compatible with the Dynamic DNS Pro service. With the new benefits, we felt that the upgrade service deserved its own "DynTitle" and a proper place alongside our other offerings, to make sure our customers get the best use out of their Dynamic DNS service.

In event news, we had a lot of fun at Interop Las Vegas last week. Dyn Inc.'s President and CTO Tom Daly has posted a great article about some of the cool, geeky stuff at the expo on our Dynamic Discourse journal. It was a blast, but we're not done yet: we have ten more conferences and events scheduled this year (for the moment!), with the next one up being Internet Week New York from June 1-8. We'll be attending Drinks4Startups on Tuesday, June 2 as part of our DynTini series of events. If you're in the New York area, stop by and get a free drink on Dyn Inc.!
