Issue 12: Upgraded the Account Upgrades

September 24, 2007

Have you been tempted by our account upgrades? For those of you who are not yet familiar with DynDNS parlance, an account upgrade is an easy way to enable a wide array of additional features in your account and all your free services, including phone support option.

Today, we are delighted to introduce our new, revamped and amped up account upgrade. It sounds and works much like the regular upgrade that you know and love but it brings you many more features, all based on your very own feedback.

First of all, we have added 174 premium domains for you to run your Dynamic DNS service from, including a new selection of domain names in French and German. That way, your visitors can remember your addresses and feel right at home even if they do not speak English. As usual, keep your language suggestions coming, we are always looking forward to making things easier for our international users!

More domains means more occasions to publish. That blog dedicated to Linux serial drivers? Go for it! You now get 25 hostnames with each upgrade so there is no holding back! As usual, you can use these domains to publish sites, access your computers remotely, set up collaboration servers – everything Dynamic DNS can do, really.

Since all these improvements will doubtlessly translate into more activity, we have slightly raised the abuse thresholds so that you are even less likely to run into any snags while setting it all up. You can even see the update logs for the past day as well. We also introduced a much shorter TTL of 20 seconds.

We hope you like these changes! As usual, we welcome any questions, comments and feedback you may have. Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can make your life easier.
